Cleanup companion for students

Find the files you're finished with.

Downloads pile up — duplicate PDFs, half-downloaded zips, lecture recordings from last semester. TidyScout scans your folders and Google Drive, shows you what's probably clutter and why, and lets you clear it in one careful sweep.

Analysis happens on your device. Deleted files go to the Recycle Bin, never into thin air.

Built to be trusted

Three promises, kept by design

Recycle Bin, always

TidyScout physically cannot permanently delete anything. Local files go to the Windows Recycle Bin, Drive files go to Google Drive's Trash — both recoverable for weeks.

Nothing preselected

Every suggestion arrives unticked, with plain-English evidence. You review, you choose, you get one final complete list before anything moves.

Private by design

File contents are analysed on your computer and never uploaded. For Google Drive, TidyScout only ever sees metadata — names, sizes, dates — not what's inside.

How it works

Three steps to a lighter laptop

Point it at your mess

Pick a folder — Downloads is the classic — or connect Google Drive. TidyScout can only look where you deliberately point it.

Review the evidence

Exact copies (verified byte-for-byte), unfinished downloads, empty files, likely copies and old large downloads — each with the reason it was flagged. Sort by size, age, name or type; anything recent or important is protected automatically.

Sweep, safely

Tick what you're done with, confirm the final list, and TidyScout moves it to the Recycle Bin or Drive Trash. The History page keeps a transparent record of every cleanup.

Made for student life. Course packs downloaded twice, "essay (1).docx", the installer you needed once in March — TidyScout was built around the clutter that studying actually creates.
